For most of my projects I use a cable called “Mobile Action MA-8710C” which is for Ericsson mobile phones. This is a USB cable that works with the pl2303 driver which is standard in the Linux kernel.

Pinout for the cable:

 TX  - Red
 RX  - Black
 GND - Shield
